After her epic journey the old girl is on a pallet, wrapped up tight and all secure waiting for a ship to take her back to Australia. Thanks to the generosity of Hans Sprangers of Sydney, and with the assistance of Patrick Vullings of Dutch Lion M/C & our good friends Harry & Mark de Boer she is tucked in beside Hans’s newly acquired post vintage Zundapp & sidecar. We’ll be there to clear her through customs then head on down to Tasmania where we plan to make our new home. Once Effie’s engine is overhauled I’ll be looking forward to riding around the island and even tackling a steep hill or two to prepare us for the next planned adventure.
And just on a footnote:
There’ve been so many fantastic people who have supported us over the past eight months that we hope we have included everyone’s information correctly on the supporter’s list. If there’ve been any errors or worse still we’ve somehow left you out, please accept our apologies & drop us a line.

Deers Ron and Lynne,
I wish you a good last night in Belgium and a good trip to Tasmania.
I was very happy to meet you at Bernkastel, and after to escort the way to the FN factory with Pierre and Claude. Be sure we don’ forgot this very emotionnal moment when you stop at the gates.
You are a great men to réalise this trip with a such engine.
You are so a Gentleman; during the price-giving at Bernkastel, after you received your trophy, you asked Lynne to come next you and you offerd her your trophy with big Kiss, and a general acclamation folowwed.
Now your dream is really finish and in a fews days you recovered your familly and i suppose you’ll speak much and much about your “crasy adventure”.
Thanks you and Lynne to realised this site.
I hope meet you again.
Michel

Hi Di
Thanks for cheering me on. Yes, we’re heading back to Oz in a week’s time with the intention of checking out Hobart to see if it suits as a good place to settle. Loved the winter we spent there, so here’s hoping summer will win us over completely. Looking forward to enjoying some Tassie cherries! See you soon.
Caio,
Ron
Hi!!!
I met your wife here in spain when she went to VaughanTown.
I just wanted to say HEY and I can’t believe what you have achieved! Amazing!
I heard all about how you met, how you’ve lived and you guys are just AWESOME!
Hope to meet you someday.
Take care and keep livin life 🙂
Hi Mayte
Thanks for your positive comments about my journey. It was one heck of a ride and I’m now slowly coming back down to earth. We’ve begun work on a book this week and it’s been good to relive the adventure. Lynne loved Spain and there’s a good chance we’ll make it down that way sometime next year if all goes well, so maybe we’ll get to meet someday.
For now we’re looking forward to starting a new life which will be a little quieter for sure, at least for now. But we’ll take your advice Mayte and keep living life to the fullest.
Cheers,
Ron
Well done. What an adventure. All the best.

Hi Adrie
Did I say I didn’t think we’d make it? What was I thinking? LOL I think it was the “new” seat that made the difference.
Sorry we missed meeting up again in Holland – you were still away when we were passing through. Loved the Netherlands and I hope to be back one of these days.

Hi guys
Great to hear from you both. Thanks for your congrats – it sure was an adventure, not all fun for sure, but certainly an incredible experience. Now it’s back to a little “normal” life until my next project. Definitely will catch up when I make it to your shores – either 2013/14. Hope you’ve both enjoyed a terrific summer riding. There’s a definite chill in the air now which makes me glad my journey is over…for now at least.
Take care
The old bloke & his missus (and his bike) xx
